The city of Nice, the second most popular tourist destination in France during the summer, receives police reinforcements. 150 CRS officers from Paris spend the months of July and August in the azure capital. Their missions are wide-ranging and include everything from traffic control to security on public roads.
In Nice during the summer, nearly 2.5 million tourists add to the locals and shopkeepers. Therefore, to ensure safety, 150 police officers from CRS companies have come to reinforce the surveillance already in place by the National Police or the Gendarmerie.
Brigades patrol along the seafront. Their primary mission: to be visible in order to deter pickpocketing, the main delinquency issue on the beaches, but also to monitor suspicious behavior to target potential thieves. The reinforcements also operate on public roads.
These reinforcements from the Paris region will remain in Nice until the end of August.
