A few results and comments on the municipalities that Nice Premium followed more closely during these municipal elections.
First, the Ciotti-Franco duel, by proxy, in Saint-Martin Vesubie ended with the victory of the former: Henri Guige achieved a decisive victory (60%) at the expense of Honoré Ghetti. The “advice” from the President of the General Council for a “useful” vote was heeded.
There is no doubt that Eric Ciotti will know how to be grateful and generous: The expectations of the new municipality will certainly find a receptive ear from him.
Moving to Saint-Laurent du Var, the result of the historical mayor, Henri Revel, shows cracks in the armor of the combative and fiery first magistrate of the most significant communes of the Nice belt: With 30.6%, he will be forced to a second round against four other candidates, all right-wing dissidents, except for the FN representative.
H.Revel (UMP) 30.66% – J.Segura 23.39% – L. Prados (FN) 17.08% – F. Benne 10.44%; M. Orsatti 10.03%
Carros is expected to confirm as a left-wing city: The civic, but left-oriented list of Charles Scibetta leads by a narrow margin over that of the former first deputy of the outgoing mayor Damiani (a socialist but rather aligned with Christian Estrosi at the metropolitan council) Christine Charles. Here again, there will be a quadrangular where it is difficult to make a prediction.
C. Scibetta 32.79% – C. Charles 30.31% – M. Thooris 21.47% – E. Borne 13.20%
Big surprise in Villefranche sur Mer where everyone expected a duel between the purple dissident Jean-Pierre Mangiapan and Christophe Trojani who leads a list that was supposed to be civic but ended up with the UMP endorsement due to his proximity to Eric Ciotti. In fact, it’s a former deputy of the outgoing mayor, Cédric Cirasa, who is well ahead and will approach the second-round triangular in a favorable position.
C. Trojani 42.28% – JP Mangiapan 33.99% – C. Cirasa 23.73%
Confusing situation also in La Trinité where the UMP candidate endorsed by the outgoing mayor Louis Scoffié, Jean-Paul Dalmasso, himself a former First Deputy, did not achieve the expected performance and is potentially exposed to being surpassed by the union of the two left lists in the second round. Also, the FN score does not meet expectations given the clear regression compared to the result obtained in the 2012 presidential and legislative elections.
JP Dalmasso 34.94% – L. Polski 25.31% – A. Mascagni 19.72% – A. Mouton 12.60%
