Behind the Scenes of San Siro
On the occasion of the 10th day of the Italian championship pitting Inter Milan against Genoa, Nice-Premium special correspondents Nicolas CAPITONI and Julien MUSSO visited the legendary G. Meazza stadium. A place steeped in history, as it is the same theater where the two feuding cousins meet: Inter Milan and AC Milan.
Interview with David Suazo – Inter Milan Forward
Nice Premium: Genoa gave you a tough time, but you were too strong, does this analysis seem correct to you?
David Suazo: Tonight, the game was not easy. Genoa is a good team that never gave up. It’s true that in this Italian championship, you can never relax for even a second at the risk of compromising a result.
NP: An excellent evening for you: a goal and a penalty caused after an incredible action…
DS: When I came into the game, I found a lot of space. Genoa attacked a lot to come back and left itself open. These conditions are perfect for my game.
NP: Did we see the real Suazo tonight?
DS: I am very happy with my performance, even though I was also good in the last matches. But tonight, I scored and had a lot of space to express myself.
NP: This year no one can stop Inter?
DS: It’s still too early to talk about the title, we’re only at the beginning of the season. Let’s say that we are doing well and that if we manage to maintain this pace, we will be on the right track.
NP: For you, it’s not easy to find a starting position in the starting eleven, how do you handle this competition?
DS: It’s true that at Inter there is great competition, especially in the offensive sector. We all have to fight to find our place, but this competition is positive for us, players. I just have to think about working well all week and be ready when Mancini calls on me.
NP: At this great strikers’ party, Adriano seems to be missing, how do you feel about him at the moment?
DS: Adriano is a player with great character, he just needs to keep working hard as he is doing now, he will know how to react and be useful to the team.
Interview with Olivier Dacourt, French midfielder for Inter Milan.
Nice-Premium: Olivier, Inter is once again at the top this year…
Olivier Dacourt: For now, we have a 3-point lead over AS Roma; we remain unbeaten. It’s true that a more difficult championship than last year was predicted for us, but for now, we are on the same pace.
NP: Are you already thinking about the Juventus match this Sunday?
OD: It’s a top match, they’ve been waiting for it for a long time; we’re going there to take the 3 points, but it should go well…
I am confident, and I must say, we are a really united group…
NP: A few words for Nice Premium’s online readers?
OD: I miss France… and hello Mom!
