The French team will not achieve the treble. After winning the Euro 1984 and the 1998 World Cup held on home soil, the Blues were defeated in the final of Euro 2016 against Portugal (0-1, after extra time) at the Stade de France.
The French, clearly worn out by their semi-final against Germany, very rarely managed to create gaps in the Portuguese defense.
And when they did find an opening, the excellent Portuguese goalkeeper Rui Patricio thwarted their attempts.
