Nice showcases the European Union

Latest News

Since last May, the Europe Direct Center, supported by the European Commission, opened its doors in the South Provence-Alpes-Cรดte d’Azur region. On February 8, 2022, this center launched its website.

Familiarizing with Europe is the objective of the building. Christian Estrosi, the mayor of Nice, decided last May to create this establishment at 14 Paganini Street, so that citizens learn more about European institutions. This collaboration is possible thanks to the significant efforts of the city of Nice, which prioritizes Europe for its development. Since 2008, more than 115 projects have been funded by European funds, totaling over 50 million in investments. Nine months after its establishment, the center launched its website.

The aim is to bring Europe to life in Nice. On the website, you can find presentations, history, functioning, and the latest news about European institutions. There are also educational resources and fact sheets on European policies. The site is available in three languages: Italian, French, and English. An agenda is also available, listing over 60 events until June 30.

The center has several missions:

โ€“ Conducting interventions with organizations and the public by organizing activities and tailored information sessions.

โ€“ Organizing and participating in events with a European character: forums, fairs, conferences, visits to European institutions, etc.

โ€“ Broadcasting documentaries that are free, comprehensive, and current about the European Union.

โ€“ Encouraging the European mobility of young people and promoting European citizenship.
