On Saturday, April 2 and Sunday, April 3, 2011, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Grande Corniche Departmental Nature Park
As part of the Sustainable Development Week, various operations and activities for a clean planet will be held at the Maison de la nature in the Grande Corniche Departmental Nature Park.
Among them is the “Trocalampes” operation, which is very simple: it involves exchanging old incandescent bulbs (traditional bulbs) for two energy-saving lamps (ESL*). A symbolic action that will allow for a reduction in electricity consumption and ease the pressure on the electrical grid since these lamps consume five times less energy!
The General Council will collect the incandescent bulbs and transport them to approved treatment channels.
Other activities and awareness-raising actions in favor of sustainable development will also be presented to the public:
– Alternating screenings of the film “Citizens of the Earth,” highlighting the problems related to human activity in relation to nature,
– Photo exhibition “Sustainable Development” by Yann Arthus-Bertrand,
– Visualization, through explanatory panels, of an automatic wood boiler,
– Photo exhibition “Pollinators and Biodiversity,” apiculture stand (life of bees, hive evolution…),
– Stand on reducing electrical consumption, allowing for comparisons of the electrical consumption of different types of bulbs,
– Stand on waste and valorization (composter, vermicomposting),
– Awareness-raising on the fight, led by the General Council, against the pine processionary caterpillar.
