This summer, the city of Nice has implemented several strategies to keep the Promenade des Anglais and its beaches clean.

Every morning at 5:30 AM, 50 sanitation workers rake the beaches and the promenade before the arrival of locals and tourists. The trash bins are emptied, and a boat is used daily to clean the pebbles.

Additionally, three collections are carried out daily in the beach and Promenade des Anglais area up to the city center/old Nice. A round takes place early in the morning at around 5:30 AM, another at the beginning of the afternoon, and a final one around 10 PM.

Recently, we informed you about the installation of three new very innovative containers called โ€œcompactor containers.โ€ These containers have the feature of compacting waste, which significantly increases the filling capacity of the bins. When they are full, agents are notified through an app and can then intervene to empty them.

Laurent Calatayud, the director of the sanitation department in the city of Nice, explained to France Bleu Cรดte Dโ€™Azur that thanks to these measures implemented, more than six tons of waste are collected every day on the beaches and on the Promenade des Anglais.
