After a one-year closure and a series of setbacks, the Gare du Sud, located in the Libรฉration district of Nice, is finally ready to reopen its doors to the public this Monday, July 17 at 6 PM. As a preview, we were able to discover the innovative “Mediterraneo” concept of the gourmet hall, led by the Iera group, the new owner of the establishment.
The Gare du Sud, whose opening had been postponed by a week, will now offer an entirely new concept, Mediterraneo, which will highlight the Mediterranean culture and gastronomy. Visitors will be able to experience various atmospheres and savor Lebanese, Eastern, Italian, Greek, and Niรงoise cuisine, not to mention the delights of local gastronomy.
Varied Dishes at Affordable Prices
The new gourmet hall will be equipped with ordering kiosks located throughout the venue, enabling customers to choose from a tempting menu that includes dishes such as hummus, paella, Niรงoise salad, lasagna, souvlaki, and oriental pastries. The kitchens will be arranged so that visitors can watch the preparation of their meals in a festive and lively atmosphere. This renovation required a substantial investment of nearly 4 million euros.
An Ambition of Sharing and Conviviality
The reopening of the Gare du Sud is a powerful symbol for the regeneration of the districts of Nice, according to the mayor of the city, Christian Estrosi. The head of the Iera group, Renato Iera, expresses the desire to make this place a venue for sharing and well-being for all visitors. With deliberately affordable prices, starting from 5 euros, the Gare du Sud aims to highlight popular and convivial cuisine, allowing everyone to enjoy Mediterranean delicacies.
An Open and Lively Venue
The Gare du Sud will be open every day of the week, from 8 AM to 11 PM. Concerts and many events will bring the hall to life in the coming months, creating a warm and festive atmosphere. The establishment also features a Mediterranean restaurant, a cooking school where future chefs will be trained, and relaxation areas both downstairs and upstairs.
