Nice: The Mills in a Photo Exhibition

Latest News

The Moulins district is undergoing an extensive urban renovation project until 2016, with ambitions including: opening up the area, creating an East-West axis through it, requalifying public spaces, diversifying and improving housing, developing services and facilities, promoting employment, strengthening the action of associations, and revitalizing businesses.

moulins-3.jpg Buildings 3 and 7, which overlooked the Amaryllis Square, were demolished between late 2010 and early 2011 as part of the implementation of this project. These demolitions allowed for the freeing up of space, opening the square onto Paul Montel Boulevard and initiating the requalification of this public space.

To ensure that Amaryllis Square remains, for the residents and shopkeepers, a friendly place for meetings and exchanges during the works (lasting 18 to 24 months), the Nice Cรดte d’Azur Metropolis and the city of Nice have developed an entertainment program. Beyond the physical transformations of the area, the renewal project also focuses on a human dimension of solidarity, listening, and mutual assistance.

This Friday, February 24, at 5 PM, a photo exhibition highlighting the residents of Moulins will be inaugurated in the presence of Dominique Estrosi-Sassone, Deputy Delegate for Housing, Urban Renewal, and the Fight against Discrimination and Metropolitan Councillor. The artist, Frรฉdรฉric Schwal, offers a sensitive view of these young people, families, children, and shopkeepers who make up the soul of this district.
