Nice: The victims of the attack will be compensated.

The victims of the attack will be compensated by the Guarantee Fund for Victims of Terrorist Acts and Other Offenses (FGTI).

These individuals can particularly establish their “damage” through a “psychiatric examination” or by means of filing a “police report” at a police station; foreign victims are also concerned.

The first compensations for the victims will be paid “by the end of next week,” announced the state secretary for victim assistance, Juliette Méadel, after visiting the Nice assistance unit located at the Mediterranean University Center (CUM) this Saturday.

Several victim associations have also expressed concern that the people traumatized in Nice, due to their large number and the difficulty they may face in proving their presence at the scene of the attack, might be deprived of any compensation.

“We will ensure that the victims, whether they are shocked or indirectly affected (relatives of the victims), are taken care of,” assured the minister.
