Nice Triathlon: Les Sables Vendée French Champion

Latest News

The Les Sables Vendée Triathlon team won the sixth and final stage of the French 1st Division Club Championship in Nice on Sunday, thus securing the championship title.

During the cycling segment, recent English bronze medalist Jonathan Brownlee from Sartrouville positioned himself in the lead group before taking control during the running segment to claim victory.

However, it was Hervé Delaunay’s men who ultimately dominated the team standings, thanks in part to Frenchman David Hauss, who finished 5th at the London Olympics.

In the women’s category, it was Poissy Triathlon, led by Frenchwoman Jessica Harrison, who finished 9th in London, that retained their national title from the previous year by surpassing TCG79 Parthenay and Lagardère Paris Racing.

In this event, competitors were required to complete 750m of swimming, 19.5km of cycling, and 5km of running.

Olivier Marceau, a former World Triathlon Champion, won the Open race of the Triathlon Nice Côte d’Azur in 2 hours!

The podium:

1) Olivier Marceau: 02’00″00

2) Jean-Philippe Boulet: 02’01″24

3) Jérome Blanc: 02’04″04
