Exploit at Jean Bouin. Nice claimed the scalp of Grenoble, who were the 2nd in the standings (4-2).
After falling to the leader in the previous round, Nice had to perform a feat to keep believing in the playoffs: to defeat the 2nd place team, the Brûleurs de Loups de Grenoble.
While the first period saw no goals, the second period had Nice soar ahead, scoring three times with goals from Draper, Belisle, and Bagin.
Nice led 3-0 at the beginning of the 3rd and final period, but Nice had a scare. Golicic gave Grenoble hope at the very start of the period (3-1) and Champagne also scored… with 6 seconds left in the game. Fortunately, Carpentier scored a few seconds later, preventing Grenoble’s comeback (4-2).
In the match where Nice’s two direct competitors faced each other, it was Mulhouse who decisively won at Épinal (7-2).
In the standings, Nice now occupies the 8th place, one point behind Mulhouse and Épinal, who have played one more match.
Nice will travel to Angers (7th) in the next round.
