The Force Ouvriรจre union protests against the project to reorganize pediatric services, deemed hasty and without consultation.
A new strike notice was filed this Thursday by the Force Ouvriรจre union at the Nice University Hospital. The mobilization is scheduled for Monday, May 13, from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., on the forecourt of the Lenval hospital. The date was not chosen at random: it coincides with a meeting of the Social Establishment Committee (CSE) during which Ronan Dubois, the general director of Lenval, is to present a project to reorganize the governance of pediatric dialysis and pediatric onco-hematology services.
These services, currently located at the Archet 2 hospital, would be transferred under Lenval’s governance. A decision that, according to union representatives, was made without consultation with the concerned medical teams.
During a meeting held this Thursday between the FO section of the CHU and the Force Ouvriรจre federation, discontent was palpable. The union denounces a continuous deterioration of working conditions, worsened by a chronic lack of staff: โwe cannot undertake such a reorganization while already being understaffedโ, warns Franck Hausner, General Secretary of FO. He fears that this project will increase psychosocial risks among healthcare workers.
In this context, the teams had requested the intervention of an external expert to assess these risks. A request denied by the management, which led the staff to launch a petition to support their approach. Over 500 signatures have already been collected.
This new social movement arises while a previous strike, concerning the same concerns, received no response from the management, according to the unions: โwe feel we are not being heard, despite repeated warningsโ, lamented Michel Fuentes, General Secretary of FO at the CHU.
