After the resounding success against Narbonne (3-0) in the championship, Nice Volley Ball returned to the French Cup this Monday with a trip to Ajaccio. Although Ajaccio holds the status of a second division club, it has impressed since the beginning of the competition and posed many problems for Rafael Redwitz’s players.
While the first set of the match was handily won by the Azuréens (16-25), the Corsicans corrected the situation by winning the second and third sets with a score of 25-22. The same score was seen in the fourth act, but this time in favor of NVB, which enabled them to secure the 5th set of this match (11-15).
This marks the third consecutive success for Nice Volley Ball, securing their qualification for the semi-finals of the French Cup scheduled for February 28th. The Azuréen club joins Poitiers, Narbonne, and Tours; the draw for the matches will take place this Wednesday evening.
