Even though the Nice club will not reach the playoffs, they played their 24th championship match in Haute-Marne this Saturday
A few days after their home defeat against Tourcoing (0-3), NVB traveled to face the 3rd in the standings: Chaumont Volley Ball 52.
Unfortunately, the Haute-Marne club handed a third consecutive defeat to the Azureans, the second in a row without winning a single set. The Eagles had started their match well, with the first set being evenly matched until Chaumont’s victory in the tie-break (27:25). In the second set, the home team demonstrated their superiority by troubling the Azurean defense (25:15). Even though the match’s outcome seemed already decided, NVB fought hard in the third set without being able to secure a win (25:22).
It was a clear defeat, but of little importance for the championship. However, another setback against Toulouse (on March 18 in Nice) could undermine the confidence of the Nice team before the French Cup final against Tours.
