Nice Volley Ball lost this Friday, February 18, 2011, by a score of three sets to one at the Palmeira hall in Nice, against the top-ranked Poitiers during the 19th day of Ligue A. Although the Nice team managed to win the first set with difficulty (26-24), they collapsed afterward (12-25, 19-25, 21-25). This marks the fifth consecutive defeat for Slobodan Lozencic’s players, who are increasingly distancing themselves from the hope of staying in the league. NVB is now five points behind the twelfth place, the last spot safe from relegation, which is held by Toulouse.
On Friday, February 25, NVB will travel to Saint Quentin, the bottom team in the standings, with the goal of breaking this string of poor results and regaining some hope.
