On the occasion of the launch of the Nice Jazz Festival 2014, the City of Nice has issued a significant challenge to all the people of Nice: to enter the Guinness World Records 2015 by creating the largest human saxophone in the world.
If you too wish to take part in this world record attempt as part of a beautiful and grand human and musical adventure, do not hesitate to click on the following link by providing all the requested information: https://recorddumonde.nice.fr
This record will be officially recognized in the presence of a Guinness World Records judge and Christian Estrosi, Deputy Mayor of Nice and President of the Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolitan Area.
Such a record could not be achieved without the participation of all those who wish to join the celebration. To do so, the City of Nice needs to bring together as many people as possible to set this record.
With family, friends, young and old, join the adventure to set this world record and celebrate together as the City of Nice and the Nice Jazz Festival enter the Guinness World Records.
The meeting is set for 5:30 PM on the Promenade du Paillon.
While jazz is deeply rooted in the history and culture of the city of Nice, attempting the record for the largest human saxophone in the world at the launch of the Nice Jazz Festival 2014 also pays tribute to Adolf Sax, born in 1814. He is the creator of the saxophone, an indispensable instrument in jazz and the emblem of the Nice Jazz Festival 2014.

New Orleans…Land of dreams, is the dream that the group “Sounds of Dixie” offers by playing Dixieland tunes dating back to the early days of jazz, at the beginning of the 20th Century, during Prohibition, the suffragettes, the washboard, the fox trot, the one-step, Armstrong’s scat, and Bix Beiderbecke’s cornet. From the depths of the Roaring Twenties come melodies such as Balling the Jack, Indiana, Oh You Beautiful Doll, Original Dixieland One Step, Honeysuckle Rose…
