The gardens of Villa Massรฉna hosted for the second consecutive year the graduation ceremony for ski instructors: 260 out of 400 newcomers were present to receive from their president, Gilles Chabert, the symbol of their success: the numbered medal and the “red sweater” which is their emblem.

They will join the 250 ski schools in France, adding to the 17,000 State-certified instructors.

The French Ski School is a true economic powerhouse, and the figures speak for themselves: 240 million in revenue, 1 million children trained each year, 2,000 administrative jobs, and 3,500 trainees.

The evening was held in the presence of Christian Estrosi, in his capacity as the mayor of Nice, President of the Metropolis, and President of the PACA Region: 48 graduates come from the PACA Region, including 16 from the Alpes-Maritimes, a department where 14 ski resorts are located.

Also present to underline the importance of the event was Michel Vion, president of the French Ski Federation.

Numerous champions or former champions were in attendance: some were receiving their diplomas like Tessa Worley, Marion Rolland, Alexis Pinturault, Jean-Baptiste Grange, Adrien Theaux, Yannick Bertrand; others were by their side: Julien Lizeroux and Nastasia Noems, who is recovering from her right knee injury, sustained in Saint-Moritz in March.
