A major event in the summer cultural life of Nice, the Nice Classic Live, continuing the legacy of the Cloister festival which it took over in 2018 and driven by the pianist Marie-Josèphe Jude, offers the public a wide range of classical repertoires as well as unique contemporary creations.
This third edition, marking the resumption of live performances, will offer the public musical excursions in various directions – classical, contemporary, and jazz music – proposed by internationally renowned artists, as well as young talents.
Organized over three weekends and featuring ten thematic evenings scheduled outdoors in front of the Matisse Museum, the Nice Classic Live is delighted to reunite with its audience, invited to enjoy the beauty of music in a serene setting.
The festival thus confirms its ambition to foster a love for and share music in all its diversity, whether classical, contemporary, or jazz, and to bring to everyone the most beautiful offerings of art.
The summer exhibition of the Matisse Museum serves as the source of inspiration for this 2020 edition of the Nice Classic Live. Variations, transcriptions, the evolution of classical music towards scholarly music, and then towards contemporary music, all these terms embody the “Metamorphosis.”
Several evenings will be dedicated to Jazz, as well as to Ludwig van Beethoven, celebrating the 250th anniversary of his birth.
