The practice of board sports continues to grow. To meet the demands of many enthusiasts, the skatepark located on Boulevard Comte de Falicon will be expanded and improved, so that Nice is equipped with facilities meeting the requirements of these sports.
Created with Vauban High School and the Don Bosco Foundation, in consultation with the Nice Skate Association, Free Ride Foundation (BMX), and Nice Roller Attitude, the skatepark will cover an area of 1300mยฒ and will be completed in March 2013.
This site will fulfill the municipality’s desire to offer young people adapted and secure spaces, free from all risks associated with practicing in urban environments, and will allow us to host national-level competitions.
Located on the Comte de Falicon site, south of the pool of the same name, the Skatepark will cover an area of 1,300mยฒ (including 1150mยฒ of concrete). It will offer secure and suitable areas for practicing, but will also be a place for socializing, exchange, and conviviality.
Developed in partnership with enthusiasts of these board sports, from the associations Nice Skate Association, Free Ride Foundation (BMX), and Nice Roller Attitude, the Skatepark will be part of a facility that will also include an approved hat-trick field (new generation synthetic field 20m x 40m for football) and changing rooms. It will be open to skateboarding, rollerblading, and BMX and will include:
A “Street Plaza” zone (60% of the area), a modern concrete area including modules reproducing urban furniture and street obstacles; a “Bowl” zone (40% of the area), a more “undulating” space with curves of different levels allowing for more technical training.
This site will fulfill the municipality’s desire to offer young people adapted and secure spaces, free from all risks associated with practicing in urban environments, and will allow the city of Nice to host national-level competitions.
