Since 2009, under the leadership of Jean-Marc Giaume, Municipal Councilor, the Heritage Center of the City of Nice has been offering free Niçois language courses to the general public as well as to municipal staff.
This initiative has been met with genuine enthusiasm, and for the first time, an official diploma ceremony is being organized on Monday, June 25, 2012, at 12:30 PM, at the Nice Heritage Center.
About sixty individuals will be receiving their diplomas from Jean-Marc Giaume. These diplomas are designed by illustrator Elisabeth Bondanelli, who also conducts these introductory courses on the Niçois language.
Three levels of training will be recognized:
– Rosa level (Beginner)
– Galofre level (Advanced)
– Paumoula level (Proficient)
These courses take place:
For municipal staff: every Tuesday and Thursday (2 sessions according to level from 12:15 PM to 1:00 PM and from 1:15 PM to 2:00 PM) at the Heritage Center (75, quai des Etats-Unis).
For the general public (adults):
– Every Monday at 81, rue de France (2 sessions at 4:30 PM and 5:30 PM according to level)
– Every Thursday at La Treille, 7 rue Saint-Augustin at 3:30 PM
All courses are free of charge.
