The Committee on Ethnological and Intangible Heritage of the Ministry of Culture has just officially listed the culinary practices of the Nice region in the National Heritage Inventory of France.
This outcome rewards the initiative of the Association, represented by its president Alex Benvenuto and its vice-president Pierre Belleudy, which for two years gathered a technical and scientific committee of experts to analyze and establish the various aspects of Niçoise cuisine, effectively supplementing the groundwork led by the Tourism Office for years as part of the Niçoise cuisine label.
This official recognition also enhances the approach initiated by the Paul Augier High School since the start of this academic year, which has just created a Niçoise cuisine module in its curriculum.
Good news that the mayor of Nice, Christian Estrosi, is pleased with: “This now national recognition further strengthens our application dossier for inclusion by UNESCO in the World Heritage list of a vast urban ensemble titled ‘Nice, City of Riviera.’”
