Until July 13, Olivier Torres is exhibiting his watercolors at the Dominicans Gallery. A blend of colors to contemplate the city of Nice in a different way.
“It’s four years of painting,” smiles Olivier Torres, the man behind these paintings depicting the city of Nice. At the Dominicans Gallery, he is exhibiting his watercolor paintings until July 13. Using this technique, he reflects on the face of Nice, with a sometimes different hue. The artist’s touch. “Niçoises Walks” is a sort of homage to this Mediterranean gem. And everyone can marvel at this array of color. An exhibition that brings a smile.

“What stands out is the light, the somewhat peculiar brightness. It’s interesting because it’s not deliberate when painting, but you find what’s there in Nice,” explains artist Olivier Torres.
His works are colorful, between shadows and lights, and resemble the warmth of Nice. All while redefining the landscape. The artist makes the city his own to give free rein to his creativity. “It’s about creativity, you have to let yourself go, for sure,” he explains.
Works that captivate
Among the works presented in the gallery, Olivier Torres has his favorites. And they are two iconic places in the city of Nice. The watercolors are also greatly appreciated by visitors.
“The Promenade intrigued me, that’s why I worked quite a bit on it. The works on the Negresco too, they were quite nice. And people really like those works,” the artist explains.
To discover all the works of Olivier Torres, visit the Dominicans Gallery (9 rue St-François-de-Paule), until July 13. The exhibition is free.
