Spending a night in a yurt has become very trendy in Europe, and this phenomenon has also been arriving in France over the past few years. It will be possible for a weekend in Collongues in the Alpes-Maritimes during the yurt night, next weekend.
As part of the activities of the “Rêves de Yourtes” association, located in COLLONGUES, in the Alpes Maritimes, and thanks to the efforts of its members, the association has acquired its first yurt and is organizing, with the support of the Paca Regional Council, and the Festival des Nuits du Sud, a “green” cultural tourism event. Some “nature-culture-tourism” activities based on “ecotourism” principles will be organized on Saturday, June 11 and Sunday, June 12 in Collongues.
The purpose of the event is to highlight:
The potential and uniqueness of the region located within the future Regional Natural Park of the Southern Alps,
The existence and activities of the new “Rêves de Yourtes” association, which aims to develop a form of tourism accommodation under the yurt, respectful of nature and local culture, and mindful of economic and ecological development.
The venue:
Located in the commune of COLLONGUES, the site is on Chemin de Fontagne (700 meters on the left), at the edge of a stream with shaded areas.
The logistics:
- A yurt dedicated to body care and various workshops
- An eco-toilet
- A barbecue area with a grill service and cold drinks (available for purchase)
- Space dedicated to breakfast
- A parking lot for cars at the entrance of the village.

Acoustic concert by Mr. Téo Saavedra (Singer and director of Nuits du Sud), featuring global and South American guitar and song.
Téo Saavedra was born in Chile in 1952. At the age of 20, he joined the fight against Pinochet’s regime. After being imprisoned, Téo Saavedra decided to leave Chile for France in 1977.
He is the founder of the Les Nuits du Sud Festival. Téo Saavedra co-authored with Anne Proenza the book “Les Evadés de Santiago,” published by Seuil in May 2010 (Internet source RFI).
