The Rugby Nice Côte d’Azur team will be traveling to Nîmes for a match that has the scent of the lower end of the standings and is likely to be costly for the loser. With 7 and 10 points in the rankings respectively, Nice and Nîmes occupy the 9th and 8th places in this group of 10. Needless to say, points will be welcome to catch up to Châteaurenard (12 pts), Romans (14 pts), and Saint-Étienne (17 pts).
The only satisfactory result would therefore be a victory, and if possible a bonus one, for Anturville’s men, who will host next week at Arboras a demobilized Marseille team, last in the standings with 3 points and notably 281 points conceded for only 69 scored. A great opportunity to catch up in the standings before the winter break, so as to spend the holidays a little warmer before receiving Castanet at the beginning of 2012.
In short, these three or four points could, moreover, allow Nice to move past their opponent of the day in the standings and these are the matches that truly reveal a group’s spirit.
We can only hope that the Nice XV team will be able to surpass themselves to get the Côte d’Azur machine back on track…
