On Friday, May 22, at 9 a.m., in front of the Garibaldi statue, Place Garibaldi, 18 students from the 10th and 11th grades, among the 2406 students of the Académie de Nice who study Nissart Occitan, Provençal, or Vivaro-Alpine, will receive the Nissart Prizes for their results in the 13th “Dictada Occitana en Nissart” competition.
This competition took place in 46 cities of Occitania, in Paris, and in Barcelona, Catalonia. The text for their test was by Miquèl de Carabatta, an Alpine and Nissart Occitan writer (professor of Nissart Occitan at Port Lympia College).
The prizes will be offered by the associations NISSA PANTAI and APLR and presented by their presidents Cristòu Daurore and Olivier Pasquetti (represented by Mr. Reinat Anfosso), as well as the Nissart Occitan teacher from Augier High School: Béatrice Rolando.
The Nissart course at Goscigny High School was created when it opened in September 2012, with Professor Marc-Antoine Orsini.
In attendance will be Jean-Luc Gag, Municipal Councilor delegated to Historical Heritage, Literature, the Fight against Illiteracy, Theater, Culture, and the Nissa language.
This will be an opportunity to encourage the final-year students who will take the Nissart Occitan, Provençal, or Vivaro-Alpine exams at the Baccalaureate, with oral exams on June 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, and written exams on June 23rd.
