The French team did not manage to achieve the feat during their last major pre-World match; the Blues once again displayed unwavering bravery and courage in a game where the level of play was very low (nearly 40 turnovers). An analysis by our rugby consultant, Eric Buchet.
Although France engaged in the game most generously, relying on their scrum and demonstrating their ability to defend well, the monotony of their attacking play did not allow them to capitalize on their strengths, and this recurring problem doesn’t seem close to being resolved.
England delivered a lackluster performance, partly due to the Blues’ tenacity to win this crunch, and are heading towards a probable Grand Slam.
As for us, we have two matches left to try to establish our game plan before heading to New Zealand with some confidence… but is it too late?
