Due to security restrictions following the July 14 attack on the Promenade des Anglais, the Nice Athletic Club (NCAA), organizers of the Nice Urban Trail, have decided to cancel the event planned for December 11, 2016, and postpone it to December 10, 2017.
“Furthermore, the current restrictions did not allow the organization of an event that matches the level of ambition set by the Nice club, which aims to make the event a significant milestone in the sporting calendar,” stated the club.
In any case, until July 14, 2017, no events will be permitted on the Promenade des Anglais where security work is underway.
In a recent press briefing, Christian Estrosi, the first deputy in charge of security, announced that a new regulation for organizing public events will be proposed in the coming weeks.
