We follow five of them, including Prince Kragh himself, as they embark on the ritual of the Stars that will make them Lunar Warriors. A dark and very rich fantasy story!
For fantasy enthusiasts, this volume is bound to intrigue. The book cover speaks volumes and, when you flip through the first few pages, you discover stunning illustrations that introduce the main characters. And here, originality is key as the authors have chosen fish-men characters, which is not common. And when you start reading, you quickly realize that the story will be rich, and the writing is polished and well-crafted.
We therefore follow five participants in the ritual of the Stars who will undergo trials that are as dangerous for them as they are fascinating for us, readers, to follow. Action is ever-present and can arise at any moment, even when you think it’s time for rest or recovery. Events unfold at a rapid pace. And the tension builds up crescendo to the ending, which I absolutely did not anticipate. The authors know how to keep their readers on the edge of their seats. And they know how to surprise us too. Some twists are almost alarming! I have rarely taken so much pleasure in reading fantasy. When I usually marvel at the originality of authors, here I was blown away multiple times.
We dive wonderfully into the authors’ world of fish-men. The writing is of high quality and very effective. The universe is very well thought out and the plot, although it starts on simple bases, is particularly gripping because it later reveals beautiful surprises directly related to the original universe. I am a big fan of the World of Warcraft universe. I found the same codes there, but for the rest, the authors have skillfully appropriated their own universe to dazzle us. I was completely absorbed in their world. And now I only want to discover even more!
