Gathering this Saturday, September 28th at 5 PM, Place Garibaldi, organized by ADN, Act Against Racism, Friends of Democracy, ATTAC06, Ecole Emancipรฉe, Emancipation 06, Habitat and Citizenship, MRAP, RESF, SOS Racism 06, Sud Education 06, Union Pacifiste UPF-IRG.
A series of hateful and violent speeches (Mr. Estrosi, Ciotti, Luca and others) and provocative announcements have targeted populations already weakened by the economic crisis: the unemployed, Roma, homeless people, travelers, recipients of various aids (labeled as “dependents”), asylum seekers, Muslims, foreign minors, and those in precarious situations, etc.
Discourses of exclusion, supported by police harassment, also attack aid organizations.
In the face of this rise in intolerance and this hunt for the poor, we will not remain passive witnesses: let us reaffirm the values of fraternity and equality of our Republic and continue to support the victims of exclusion.
By letting things be said and done, how far will we go in dehumanization?
History has painfully shown where that leads.
