At La Poste in Nice, 21 avenue Thiers, the official stamp of the competition will be on sale in a preview.
A “first day” postmark, highly valued by collectors, has been created for the occasion.
This stamp, publicly presented last March 2nd, includes 4 innovations:
A round format with, for the first time, 24 stars in the perforation (representing the 24 teams in the competition)
A silver ink that gives a metallic appearance to the trophy
An embossing that gives a convex and relief appearance to the ball
A scent of freshly cut grass
This stamp,* issued in 1.2 million copies at the European rate, is also available in a block of 5 stamps
