The armistice of 1918, signed on November 11, 1918, at 5 AM, marks the end of the fighting in the First World War (1914-1918) and the total defeat of Germany. The bells ring at 11 AM, officially marking the victory of the Allies, which included France, the United Kingdom, the United States, and Russia.

In Nice, the ceremonial protocol in the presence of the authorities will take place at the War Memorials at 9:30 AM.

November 11 represents Remembrance Day and has been a holiday since the law of October 24, 1922.

On the occasion of this day of commemoration, Michel Laugier presented the flag of the 13th Company of the 363rd Infantry Regiment to the Nice City Hall.
