Members of the European Movement โ France, united in political diversity to improve European integration and foster a pluralistic debate about Europe, we must abandon our partisan neutrality ahead of the 2nd round of the presidential election to call for blocking Marine Le Pen.
Marine Le Pen’s intent to break from the European Union, the Schengen Area, and the euro fundamentally contradicts the efforts our thousands of activists have been committed to since the end of the Second World War. We are deeply attached to the community of values and interests that unite the peoples of our continent, to which our country is inseparably linked.
We, therefore, call for voting for Emmanuel Macron, whose responses to our questions seem to reflect a determined will to strengthen France’s European commitment in a very unstable world. Unity is more essential than ever in facing major powers, Islamist terrorism, climate change, and reckless finance…
It is also because Emmanuel Macron is among the few candidates who have clearly accepted the responsibilities of the French authorities on all these issues, without blaming “Brussels,” that he appears significantly more convincing than his opponent.
Odile Menozzi, President of the European Movement 06
