-Monday, March 26, 2012, Mr. Eric Ciotti, President of the General Council of the Alpes-Maritimes, will sign the support agreements from the General Council of the Alpes-Maritimes with the Departmental Olympic, Sailing, and Ski Committees, in the presence of Mr. Jean-Paul Serra, President of the Departmental Olympic and Sports Committee, Jean Lassauque, President of the Departmental Sailing Committee, and Joël Migliore, President of the Departmental Ski Committee.
3 agreements to support the development of sports, sailing, and skiing
The General Council of the Alpes-Maritimes commits to supporting the Departmental Olympic and Sports, Sailing, and Ski Committees with 120,000 euros each in order to assist them in their missions of coordinating the different Rivieran clubs, training young athletes and leaders, organizing departmental selections and supporting teams, and providing access to sports for people with disabilities.
The sailing and skiing initiatives of the General Council
For many years, the General Council has implemented the sailing plan and the skiing plan to introduce young people in the department to water and mountain activities. Thus, in 2011, more than 6,500 students benefited from sailing sessions, and 3,250 from skiing lessons.
