OGC Nice: agreement reached with Paris for Galtier

Latest News

The football world has known for several weeks that Christophe Galtier will become the new coach of Paris Saint-Germain. Even though OGC Nice wants him to leave the club, the Gym only agrees to release their coach under certain conditions.

According to several media outlets, OGC Nice has reportedly demanded a transfer fee between 8 and 10 million to let Christophe Galtier go. Initially, this amount was considered too high by PSG, which had only offered 5 million to secure the services of the former AS Saint-Etienne coach.

To lower the amount demanded by Nice, the capital club was willing to offer players from the Parisian squad. The name of the young forward Djeidi Gassama had notably been mentioned. With his contract ending in 2024, the 18-year-old player had two options: extend with PSG or be transferred during this transfer window.

In recent hours, new information has indicated that Paris has finally agreed to pay the 10 million. The agreement is expected to be announced in the coming hours, and Nice’s supporters are already delighted to receive such a handsome sum, especially since Galtier’s departure was inevitable, and his replacement (Lucien Favre) will be coming for free.
