5 days after their brilliant success at the Vélodrome, OGC Nice hosts the Corsican club as part of the 23rd Ligue 1 matchday.
After a dream week punctuated by 3 victories against 3 top 6 clubs (Lille, Lens, and Marseille), the Gym will strive to maintain this exceptional momentum against one of the relegation-threatened teams in the championship: the Athletic Club ajaccien.
Promoted this season to Ligue 1, the Ajaccio club has been in a relegation position since the start of the campaign. Although Olivier Pantaloni’s players had a fairly good end to 2022, they have only achieved one win in 2023 (against Angers) and conceded 16 goals in 6 matches. After the excellent week the Aiglons have had and their recent results, the Corsicans will come to the Allianz Riviera with a very defensive tactical setup and will rely on counterattacks.
With a victory against AC Ajaccio, OGC Nice would remain unbeaten under coach Didier Digard and could potentially climb to 7th place in the championship.
