At the time, Alexis Beka Beka was already among the players being tracked by the Gym. While he was supposed to sign with Nice, Lokomotiv Moscow entered the picture and convinced the young French prospect. He then moved to Russia for a sum of 6 million.
This summer, OGC Nice returned to the pursuit of the native of the capital. After several weeks of negotiations, the club from the French Riviera managed to convince the Moscow club with an offer of 12 million.
