Although the Nice transfer market is rather quiet in terms of arrivals, the management from the Côte d’Azur has been active since the opening of the transfer market to streamline the squad. This weekend, negotiations for a new departure have begun.
Since the opening of the summer transfer window, four players have left the Côte d’Azur. Jean N’Guessan, Ange Ahoussou, and Evann Guessand will gain experience on loan, while Walter Benitez and Ishan Sacko have left as free agents, without a transfer fee.
A new departure could occur in the coming days; it would once again be a loan. In fact, Danilo Barbosa, who arrived in 2018 from Braga for the sum of 7 million, is expected to return to his home country: Brazil.
The midfielder never managed to establish himself at Nice, and for more than two years, he was considered undesirable. For the 2021-22 season, the Brazilian was loaned with a purchase option to Palmeiras, but the Sao Paulo club decided not to keep him. Now, the 26-year-old midfielder is set to head towards Botafogo.
In four seasons, Danilo Barbosa played 50 matches in the red and black colors and scored 1 goal (against Red Star in the Coupe de France).
