On the occasion of the pre-match press conference for the Strasbourg-Nice clash, the Gym’s coach discussed the conflict that has just erupted between Ukraine and Russia. He expressed particular thoughts for the Ukrainian people.
Questioned about Russia’s attack on its Ukrainian neighbor, the OGC Nice coach expressed his full support for the Ukrainian population.
“We all woke up to the images of what’s happening in Ukraine. I would like to send a message of support to the Ukrainian people.”
The 55-year-old coach from the French Riviera, reigning French champion with Lille, also mentioned Ukrainian football and hopes for action from France.
“I am thinking of the Ukrainian coaches and players. They are experiencing a dramatic situation. I don’t know in what way, but French football must act for Ukrainian football. I hope that French football will do something to support Ukrainian football, which is currently under bombardment.”
