OGC Nice: Danilo the first recruit

It was expected and is now official. The Brazilian midfielder Danilo Barbosa (22 years old, Braga) has been transferred to OGC Nice.


Danilo is the first new face of the 2018-19 team. Transferred from Braga, Danilo is now an Aiglon as of today, following the opening of the transfer market. True to its philosophy, OGC Nice is betting on a young player with strong potential that it has been following for several seasons.

A defensive midfielder and member of Brazil’s youth teams, Danilo (1.83m, 76kg) was trained at Vasco de Gama. He was the captain of Brazil, finalist of the U20 World Cup in 2015.

Arriving at Braga and enjoying a full season in 2014/2015 (28 matches, 2 goals, and 2 assists), he was loaned to Valencia shortly after, experiencing La Liga, the Champions League, and the Europa League (34 matches played, 3 goals).

Once again loaned to Benfica and Standard de Liรจge in 2016-17, he returned to Sporting Braga in the summer of 2017.
