This Thursday, the Nice food bank received a check from OGC Nice to help the most disadvantaged.

With a shy but smiling demeanor, Alassane Plรฉa did not hide his pride as he handed over the check for 8,100 euros from OGC Nice to the association. The association’s sponsor, accompanied by Jean-Pierre Rivรจre, the club president, declared: “It’s a small gesture, but it’s still important. It’s good that the club and the players give their time to associations.”

In front of the food bank’s various partner associations such as Inter-Secours Nice, the Red Cross, Secours Populaire, and Secours Catholique, Jean-Pierre Rivรจre confirmed his player’s words: “A football club should be a social link, for example, for children. The players are always proud to participate and they do it with pleasure. The check handed over today will allow us to buy food supplies that the most disadvantaged will need.”

The 8,100 euros were raised during the Nice-Toulouse match on December 4th, for which the tickets were increased by one euro. “It takes a bit of work but brings a lot of joy,” commented Jean-Pierre Rivรจre.

Alassane Plรฉa also reminded everyone that on Sunday, the Gym is organizing a clothing drive alongside the Nice-Guingamp match. Another act of solidarity in the long list of those carried out by the Gym this season: the last solidarity Christmas meal, the invitation of disadvantaged groups during Nice-Dijon, support for the association “Le Point Rose”, and the distribution of unsold items from Allianz Riviera on match nights.
