Nice secured their first victory of the season yesterday in a friendly match against the Algerians from Constantine (3-1). Contrary to appearances, nothing was simple! Trailing after an own goal by Coulibaly in the 14th minute, the Azuréens struggled to get control of the ball.

Claude Puel had to wait a quarter of an hour to witness his players’ show of pride. Set up at the far post by Éric Bauthéac, Mahamane Traoré equalized with a superb curling shot (32nd minute). At half-time, Nice was held to a draw by Constantine (1-1).

For a long time, the score remained unchanged… until Fabian Monzon’s missile. With a quarter of an hour left before the final whistle, the Argentine received a precise throw-in from Kafoumba Coulibaly, turned, and sent the ball into the top corner of the Algerian net (2-1).

Five minutes later, he was imitated by Abraham Guié-Guié, opportunistic on Fabien Dao Castellana’s shot, released by the opposing goalkeeper (3-1). OGC Nice got back on track. It was about time.
