On their trip to Metz for the fourth day of the Butagaz Energie league, OGC Nice handball was defeated (36-22).
It was a top match awaiting OGC Nice handball as they traveled to face the third team in the championship. The Messines are still undefeated and intend to continue in that vein. On their side, the visitors want to bounce back after their narrow defeat against Paris 92. However, currently ranked fifth, they will have their work cut out against a very tough opponent.
From the start of the game, the Messines set a fast pace and quickly took the lead. Clément Alcacer’s team tried to keep up the pace but they trailed by six points almost throughout the first half. A complicated half that did not bode well for the rest of the match. At halftime, Metz leads (21-15).
OGC Nice in crisis
As play resumed, the pace did not drop and the Nice players began falling too far behind to hope for a comeback. Ehsan Abdelmalek‘s teammates failed to keep up with the hosts. In agony, they lagged by fourteen points. Ultimately, they couldn’t find the solutions to disrupt the Metz defense.
Next meeting on September 23 for OGC Nice handball as they travel to Toulouse. Their objective will be to try to kick-start their campaign again and confirm the positive aspects noticed since the beginning of the season.
