With a home defeat on the first day against Ajaccio, the “Aiglons” must not return empty-handed from their journey to the north. However, it will not be easy to upset the team of former Nice player, Daniel Sanchez, who will be eager to confirm his excellent opening victory at Troyes (0-1).
Yet, the friendly matches had not really favored the guys from the North, who had stumbled at Mons (Bel) and at home against Angers (0-2). But it seems the championship has managed to galvanize the troops with three points taken at Stade de l’Aube in the season opener. On the Nice side, there was less success at home against the neighboring islanders from Ajaccio, who managed a great heist at the Stade du Ray with the same scoreline.
Claude Puel therefore missed his start, and there is no doubt that the French Riviera coach will be eager to quickly erase this poor performance, possibly as soon as this Saturday night at the Stade du Hainaut. For that, they will need to rediscover genuine offensive effectiveness in front of the goals, which are always so difficult to score against Nicolas Penneteau.
