Jean-Pierre Rivère, President of OGC Nice, expressed indignation over comments directed against Jean-Michel Aulas, President of Olympique Lyonnais, published on the Lyon Mag.com website, calling him a “liar” following the respective transfers of Fabian Monzon to Lyon and Jérémie Pied to Nice.
The controversy did not last long on Lyon Mag, which has since, and very quickly, removed the article targeting the President of Olympique Lyonnais, accused of not being very clear about the transfer of Jérémie Pied to OGC Nice and the arrival of Fabian Monzon to the Lyon team.
This is the first time that the President of OGC Nice has taken such a stance, and it has been noted, by the way, that he is not one to be easily walked over. Those who provoke him get stung: “To revisit these operations one last time, the transfer fee for Jérémie Pied to OGC Nice is €3 million, the same as that of Fabian Monzon to Olympique Lyonnais, the latter being supplemented by an additional fee of €1 million and a sell-on clause.”
These two operations were conducted in a very good spirit, making it unacceptable that such defamatory and unfounded comments could tarnish the excellent quality of relations between the two clubs.
All’s well that ends well, and the season can therefore resume its course at the Stade du Ray, which will soon see in action the young attacker (23 years old) born in Grenoble, who hopes to quickly score goals against opposing teams.
