OGC Nice: Kasper Dolberg explains his absence during the recent matches

The Danish international, who has been with the club since 2019, demonstrated transparency by explaining the “personal reasons” that kept him off the field for over a week.

After coming on as a substitute yesterday against Montpellier, the Danish striker was absent from OGC Nice’s previous two matches against Marseille and Angers. In a message posted on his Instagram account, he explained his absences to Nice supporters:

“Dear supporters, This week, I received medical test results revealing that I have type 1 diabetes. Of course, this came as a surprise to me, and I am honestly relieved to finally understand why I have not been feeling well for the past two weeks. Also, I am extremely happy that the doctors have assured me that with the right treatment, it will have no negative impact on my football career. I have been training all week, and I already feel much better. To get used to this small treatment, we jointly decided with Kasper Hjulmand that I will not play for the national team this week.”

The forward, who scored 5 goals in the last Euro, also thanked the supporters and the Nice club for their support. Yesterday, the Allianz Riviera rose to its feet and applauded him as he came on the field this Sunday in the 68th minute.
“I would like to thank the club and the Danish federation for their support and understanding of the situation.”
