“It was important to show something different; tonight was a good match from us. It’s especially a victory for the group. We have a cohesive and interesting group, and we find the right answers at home (3 wins in 4 matches), now we need to try to do the same away.
Albert is progressing step by step, he is building himself up. It’s great that he’s showing so much quality. Papy Mendy has been huge since the beginning of the season, he too is progressing with each match.”

Eric Bauthéac (left midfielder of OGC Nice):

“We have been unrecognizable for two matches, tonight we wanted to make things right, and we delivered a good performance. We wanted to go all in from the start of the match, without overthinking. Tonight, we created a lot of offensive situations, unlike usual where we are not present enough in front of the goal. It was important to win; we gain confidence before facing a tougher opponent.
We must highlight Mathieu Bodmer’s great match; he held the fort at the back with Romain Genevois. Concerning Albert, he works hard in training, he’s assertive, and that’s what we needed in the midfield. He deserves his spot.”

René Girard (coach of Lille OSC):

“We were below par! The players deserved nothing better tonight (Wednesday), there wasn’t a single one who could save us. We cannot be satisfied with what we produced tonight; there was nothing. I think the guys are mature enough to analyze their match themselves. Many need to question themselves.”
