OGC Nice – Lille: To Take Stock!

Latest News

After the harsh northern disappointment, the people of Nice have another appointment with the men from the North on the schedule tomorrow evening at Stade du Ray. On the menu is Lille, led by Florent Balmont, who are a solid 3rd in the league, two points behind the second place PSG, and 8 points ahead of their pursuer Rennes. This does not, however, promise an easy match for the Aiglons…

ogcnice-8.jpg Rudi Garcia’s men have been in top form in their last three matches, with three wins against Ajaccio (4-1), Dijon (0-2), and PSG (2-1). The team from Nice knows what awaits them and will need to show as much talent as tenacity to overcome the Lille team, which is coasting at the end of the season. However, René Marsiglia’s protégés understand that a defeat is almost forbidden as it would bring them closer to the relegation zone, which is just three small points away for the red and black.

Fortunately for the Auréens, two critical matches will be played during this 35th matchday with Dijon (16th) hosting Auxerre (20th) and Ajaccio (17th) hosting Sochaux (19th). Needless to say, the losers of these confrontations will edge closer to Ligue 2. But it is not on the results of other games that OGC Nice should focus or look for its salvation, but rather on its upcoming fixtures because while Lille are a formidable opponent, there are also major challenges ahead with a big trip to Toulouse, the reception of Evian, and, to finish in style, a final day at Stade Gerland to face Olympique Lyonnais. A challenging course that has never been more aptly named!

So mark your calendars for tomorrow evening at 7 p.m. at the hill of Ray, where the club will once again offer a great deal with half-price tickets across the stadium, priced from 7 to 24 €.

Come on, come on, let’s head to the stadium as the Nux Vomica sings so well!
