OGC Nice: Marcin Bulka officially a Niçois!

Latest News

We suspected it for several weeks already, the Polish player is committing to a long-term stay with OGC Nice.

It is the first transfer for the Gym in this summer transfer window: the club from the French Riviera has decided to exercise the purchase option for goalkeeper Marcin Bulka. This purchase is not surprising as the 1.99-meter-tall goalie, who arrived at the end of June 2021 on the Côte d’Azur from Paris, has excelled during his 6 appearances this season.

Despite the very high level of Benitez, Christophe Galtier wanted to start another goalkeeper in the Coupe de France. The former Chelsea goalkeeper fulfilled this role excellently in this competition, with only 2 goals conceded in 5 matches and earning the title of man of the match against PSG in the round of 16 for saving two penalty shots. He also replaced Benitez in Ligue 1 against Clermont (a 0-1 loss) when the former Quilmes player was slightly injured.

While the future of Walter Benitez at the Gym is still uncertain, Marcin Bulka has signed a 4-year contract with Nice for a sum of 2 million euros. Now, it remains to be seen what role he will play in the 2022-2024 season, whether he will be a backup in Ligue 1 and a starter in the Coupe de France, or whether he will be the designated Number 1.
