At the start of the transfer window, OGC Nice seemed more focused on defensive-minded players. However, in the past few hours, several sources have revealed that the club has a high-potential winger in their sights.
Another consequence of the Ukraine-Russia conflict is that players in both countries find themselves at a standstill. Some are eager to leave their clubs to get as far away from the war as possible or just to play again (the Ukrainian league has been on hold since April). Clubs like Shakhtar Donetsk are allowing their highly sought-after players to leave.
OGC Nice is particularly interested in a player from the capital club, the young left winger, Manor Solomon. Fast, an exceptional dribbler, and a good finisher, Solomon made a name for himself with impressive performances in the Champions League last year. Over the months, the Israeli has continued to rise, becoming already one of the best players in his country at just 22 years old. During the last international gathering, he notably shone by scoring a double against Albania and providing an assist against Iceland.
Initially tracked by Fulham, the Israeli international (30 caps, 6 goals) was close to signing with the English club for a sum of 8 million euros. But in recent hours, the situation has changed with Nice entering the equation, reportedly raising the stakes with an offer of 10 million! Nevertheless, the player would prefer a move to England, and it may require offering him a substantial salary. In any case, it seems Manor Solomon is now heading towards the French Riviera. The club might have just found the replacement for Justin Kluivert.
